Easter is a time for treats, normally involving copious amounts of chocolate, and this year, we really deserve it more than any other.
As restrictions ease and we can meet in small groups outdoors, drinks will certainly be on the menu, so here are a few Easter tipple ideas from the People’s Choice Drinks Awards.
If the weather doesn’t play ball over the Easter bank holiday weekend, we might need something warming to enjoy. Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum from St Lucia won the ‘Spice up Your Life’ Rum category in this year’s People’s Choice Drinks awards and here is a great cocktail recipe from Dave Marsland, who runs the hugely popular Manchester Rum Festival:
St Lucian Hot Chocolate
50ml Butterscotch Schnapps
100ml Hotel Chocolat Classic 70% Hot Chocolate
Dash of Angostura Orange bitters
Instructions: Add the Chairman’s Reserve Spiced and Butterscotch Schnapps to the hot chocolate, top with whipped cream, shaved chocolate, and garnish with a cinnamon stick or chocolate cane. Delish. You can get hold of a bottle for £23.34.
