Getting jiggy is back on the agenda, try these tips if you’re lacking confidence

The third step of the government’s roadmap is being rolled out today, which means two households can mix inside, finally allowing couples who don’t live together time to catch up on those extra curricular activities in the bedroom… or the stairs or even the kitchen.

CBD specialist, Eden’s Gate, has put together a list of top tips to boost your sex life post lockdown. As much as we’re all excited to reconnect with our loved one in the bedroom, many are also struggling with self esteem, confidence and genuinely worrying we’ve forgotten how to do it! 

1. Talk to your partner

Talk to your partner about how you’re feeling and explain why you’re feeling that way and if there is anything they can do to help you feel at ease. You need to remember that you’re not the only person feeling this way and many people are struggling with confidence and anxiety around getting back to having sex with your partner. 

If you don’t feel comfortable having a conversation face to face, you can always send a text message explaining how you feel. This way it gives you enough time to include everything in your message as well as giving your partner time to reply and understand how you’re feeling. 

2. New underwear 

Many people have struggled with their self esteem, confidence and feeling ‘sexy’ while in lockdown. After spending a long year mainly only wearing pajamas or loungewear we’ve lost the feeling that dressing up brings. 

Google Trends analysis has identified a UK search spike for “lingerie” in May 2021, correlating with the government’s plan to allow two different households to mix. Lingerie can give you a new lease of confidence and that confidence can seriously help turn the heat up in the bedroom. 

3. Try erotic fiction

Erotic fiction is a great way to get you in the mood and reading erotica in a relaxed enviroment allows you to forget external distractions and concentrate on your desires. The fiction stories are not only for entertainment but they can also give you some great ideas for what yourself and your partner can try and experiment with. 

If you’re not interested in reading, you could try watching porn. 28,258 users are watching sexy stuff on the internet every second, so it really shouldn’t be a taboo subject. Similar to reading erotic fiction, watching porn can help you get turned on and also discover new ideas for yourself and your partner. 

However, WebMD warns against excessive use of porn. “Photographic or literary erotica can heat up the bedroom for some couples. But a heavy pornography habit can stunt some men’s ability to get an erection and achieve orgasm with their partner. Porn also sets unrealistic expectations of what real life sex is like. That can chip away at their partner’s self-esteem and hurt the relationship.”

4. CBD oils 

Research shows that CBD oil can help increase sexual pleasure, easing stress and anxiety including performance anxiety and setting the right mood. CBD oil is an essential natural alternative containing only ingredients of the earth. CBD oil is a great product to use to combat anxiety and stress resulting in a greater more intense orgasm. Yeah, baby, yeah!

5. Sex toys 

Just under three million people in the UK own a sex toy for self pleasure or to use as a couple. Many people feel embarrassed about owning sex toys, however almost half the UK population has one so the chances are that the people you work with, close friends are using them in their sex life. 

Sex toys are a great way to add a new aspect and fun to your sex life. Shopping together online for sex toys can also help add to the excitement and open the conversation about your desires.
